A tank officer of the Russian army, who participated in the shooting of Ukrainian soldiers in Ilovaisk in 2014, was neutralized in Ukraine.
The death of Russian Major Mazitov Ildar Chulpanovich was announced on the VKontakte social media on June 11, but the post was later deleted.
It is reported that he was the deputy commander of the tank battalion for weapons and died during the hostilities in Ukraine.
“After graduating from the Kazan Higher Tank Command School, he dedicated his life to serving the Motherland. He repeatedly participated in military actions and counter-terrorist operations,” the social media message about Mazitov said.
Mazitov served in the 71st Guards Motor Rifle Regiment, which is part of the 58th Combined Arms Army.
In May 2022, the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported that Ildar Mazitov and his regiment were supposed to guard a parade in occupied Mariupol.
This Russian invader participated in the invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine back in August 2014.
Journalist Rostislav Shaposhnikov, who went out along the “green corridor” in the Ilovaisk district with the military on August 29, caught Mazitov’s T-72B tank on camera.
The Ukrainian military left their positions and started to withdraw, but came under massive fire from the Russians.
According to official data, 366 Ukrainian soldiers died near Ilovaisk, 429 were wounded, and more than 300 were captured.
Then a photo of Mazitov with his crew in this tank appeared on social media. At that time, the invader served in the 18th Guards Motor Rifle Brigade, with the military unit number 27777.
As previously reported, in April 2022, in Donbas, the Ukrainian servicemen neutralized the battalion tactical group of the 58th Combined Arms Army of Russia, which also included soldiers from this military unit.
