The Russian occupiers were digging trenches in the Red Forest in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone and even lived there.
Militarnyi informs about it.
A video from the territory, that until recently was occupied by the Russians, was published today.
The drone managed to capture a network of trenches in one of the Chornobyl forest areas.
According to the experts, judging by the location of where the trenching works were done, the invaders did receive the maximum dose of radiation possible, since, in that area, the radiation level of the soil surface is extremely high.
Thus, due to making the trenches in the territory of the radioactive Red Forest, many Russians might be showing signs of radiation sickness.
During the Russian occupation of this territory, the Ukrainian Energoatom stated that the aggressor state’s military personnel was exposed to significant external and internal radiation in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
Even before the withdrawal of the Russian invaders from the Kyiv region, it was reported that the Russian aggressors are allegedly being brought to the radiation medical center after staying in the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and the Exclusion Zone territory.
The Red Forest is a pine forest area nearby the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant that has been exposed to severe radiation and has absorbed the biggest share of radioactive dust following the 1986 accident. It is located West of the station itself. The name of the forest comes from the specific color of the dead needles.
One of the first objects captured by the Russians on the territory of Ukraine was the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and the Exclusion Zone around it.
