The Ukrainian company AeroDrone has received a contract from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for the drones.
This was shared by project partner Dmytro Shymkiv.
AeroDrone’s autonomous aircraft have already been certified and their mass production has begun.
“We made a deal with the Ministry of Defense. Now we have serial production,” said Dmytro Shymkiv.
The number of drones ordered from AeroDrone is not to be disclosed.
The first drones will undergo trial operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The units that will operate them have already been defined.
Last December, the company received permission to operate D-80 Discovery and E-300 Enterprise drones.
D-80 Discovery UAVs are known to have payloads of up to 80 kg.
Discovery DR-60 UAV has following characteristics:
Discovery DR-60 is a multifunctional unmanned aircraft originally designed for the agricultural industry.
In turn, the E-300 Enterprise drone has a payload of up to 300 kg.
The E-300 Enterprise was offered to customers as a courier drone for delivering parcels at a speed of 150 km.
Presumably, the D-80 Discovery drone was modified for reconnaissance missions.
While the E-300 Enterprise is likely to be used to deliver cargo to military positions.
AeroDrone, the manufacturer of these drones, was launched by Ukrainian Yuriy Pederiy in 2018. The company has not reported any military developments before.
