The Defense Procurement Agency of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has signed major deals with Ukrainian manufacturers to supply ground-based kamikaze drones and ammunition.

The signing took place after the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, attended by Deputy Defense Minister Dmytro Klimenkov.

“We are working to ensure a steady supply of not only unmanned aerial vehicles but also ground-based kamikaze drones, which are to become a powerful tool in the hands of our military. These drones are an important part of our defense strategy, as they can effectively perform tasks to defeat the enemy,” Klimenkov noted.

In addition to the agreement for the supply of ground-based kamikaze drones, the Defense Ministry signed an agreement for the production of ammunition.

“We continue to purchase the most necessary weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Ukrainian manufacturers: from ammunition to modern technological solutions, such as ground drones. In total, during this visit, we signed agreements worth over UAH 3.7 billion,” Maryna Bezrukova, Director of the Defense Procurement Agency, said.

The Ministry of Defense noted that this step is another confirmation of the desire to introduce the latest technologies and support the national industry.

Procurement of arms from Ukrainian manufacturers

Militarnyi previously reported that Ukrainian companies provide more than 80 percent of logistics procurement and 70 percent of weapons procurement.
