The Ministry of Defense is working on establishing winter uniform reserves for the Ukrainian military.
Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, spoke on the formation of provision reserves.
She emphasized that the Ministry of Defense contracts managed to cover the lion’s share of the winter uniform needs for the military.
“Out of the main items of material provision, the Ministry of Defense not only covered all the needs formulated by the General Staff but also formed significant reserves. In particular, winter uniforms. These include hundreds of thousands of clothes and shoe sets. And the supplying continues,” Maliar said.
She also discussed the origin of the winter uniform, which was already handed over to the troops.
“The supply is stable. Now, the main task is to ensure logistics within the Armed Forces of Ukraine so that our soldiers receive everything stored in warehouses on time,” Maliar added.
Besides, the Ministry of Defense started creating summer uniform reserves.
“Right now, there will be a change in priorities: after establishing a safety margin for winter uniforms, supplies of summer uniforms will increase,” Hanna Maliar said.
In addition to the uniform stocks, the state also takes care of the protective equipment reserve. These include about 200,000 body armor and over 120,000 helmets.
As previously reported, the Ukrainian military received winter uniform sets after completing training in Great Britain. Uniforms for the Defense Forces of Ukraine are also provided by Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Denmark, and many other partners.
