Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, about 10 new models of pistols and submachine guns have been codified and authorized for operation in the Defense Forces.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine clarified that these were weapons of Ukrainian and foreign production.

It is noted that most of these pistols had a caliber of 9 mm, but there are also samples with a caliber of 11.43 mm.

In particular, the arsenal of the Defense Forces includes pistols from well-known companies from the United States, Italy, and Belgium.

The Defense Ministry said that the submachine guns were light, compact and effective in close combat.

They are equipped with 30-round magazines, and some models can use 15-, 20-, and 25-round magazines. One of the new models that has been authorized for service has a folding stock and a silencer adapter.

In addition, since the beginning of Russia’s large-scale invasion, the Ukrainian defense ministry has codified and authorized nearly 20 models of sniper and anti-material rifles for use in the Defense Forces. One third of them are of Ukrainian manufacture.

These rifles have different calibers and are designed to destroy manpower and neutralize or critically damage conventional and lightly armored military equipment.

The foreign-made rifles are presented by arms companies from Canada, the United States, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany and other countries.

Also, since March 2022, many samples of Ukrainian-made rifles have been approved for use.

These include anti-material large-caliber rifles capable of hitting light armored vehicles, and single-shot and semi-automatic rifles designed to hit moving and stationary targets. Some of them have an effective range of up to 2,000 meters.

The codification and approval of Ukrainian-made weapons and military equipment for operation allows all purchases to be made from the state budget for the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
