The Kharkiv Armored Plant State Enterprise is completing the modernization of this year’s first batch of T-64 tanks.

In an interview with Channel 5, Herman Smetanin, director of the state enterprise, spoke about the current work at the plant.
Currently, the Kharkiv Armored Plant is modernizing a batch of T-64BV tanks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The future batch is the first for the enterprise in 2022.
Herman Smetanin hopes that the plant will complete this work ahead of schedule by the end of February.
“This is the first contract this year. We hope to finish it this month, a little ahead of schedule,” the director of the enterprise said.
Also, the Director of the Kharkiv Armored Plant State Enterprise said that since March the plant will begin work on modernization of Т-64 tanks in another modification.
“And the next month will be another modification,” – Herman Smetanin clarified.
As we reported earlier, Kharkiv Armored Plant State Enterprise is testing the latest modernization of T-64BV tank preformed in 2022.
The company’s specialists have equipped the tank with new third-generation surveillance and sighting units. The armored vehicle was equipped with anti-accumulation sternward bar armor and rubber shields on the tower.
In addition, the upgraded Т-64BV tank was presented with commander’s turret with 12.7mm Snipex Laska K-2 heavy machine gun. The fuel system of the combat vehicle has also been improved and additional armored protection of fuel tanks has been installed.
