“Italy has donated 45 firefighting vehicles to Ukraine. This crucial equipment just arrived in the EU logistics hub in Slovakia, from where it will be shipped to Ukraine,” said the European Commission.
The delivery of firefighting vehicles has been coordinated by the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
Previously, the EU allocated EUR 1.5 billion as military assistance to Ukraine. This money will go to the European Peacekeeping Fund. The decision was supported by all EU member states.
The latest €500 million aid package was approved on April 13th.
These funds will be used both for the supply of weapons and for the supply of personal protective equipment, first aid kits, and fuel to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
