Russian troops are trying to break into the territory of “Azovstal” in Mariupol.

Sviatoslav Palamar, Deputy Commander of the Azov Regiment confirmed this information, as reported by the journalist Andriy Tsaplienko.

Palamar also made an address to Zelensky.

“Defenders of Mariupol, who are at the “Azovstal”, are calling on the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to intervene in the situation,” he said.

It is reported that before the charge, the invader aviation bombed the plant for several hours straight. A large-scale fire broke out on the site, and a column of smoke was visible from all parts of Mariupol.

The Regiment had also reported that two civilians were killed and dozens were wounded during the night bombings.

The information about the invader attack was confirmed to the journalists of Suspilne by Mykhailo Vershinin, Head of the Patrol Police in Mariupol, who is also on the site.

“Artillery and aviation preparations have lasted for almost a day. As the buses left, they made a pause. Now they are launching strikes night and day. Currently, they are charging the plant in several places. We are keeping the defense and fighting back,” Vershynin told.

Previously, on April 21, Putin called back the charge of the Azovstal steel plant. He mentioned this during a meeting with Sergei Shoigu, Russian Defense Minister. He made this decision to “save the life” of the Russian military.

The defenders of Mariupol are on the territory of the plant and are constantly repelling the enemy.

For the last three days, civilians were being evacuated from the enterprise. The evacuation was conducted together with the representatives of the United Nations and the International Committee of Red Cross.

Details of the operation are not reported. It is known that approximately 100 people were taken out of Mariupol.

Troops who remain at “Azovstal” are also demanding the evacuation of the wounded and are asking for a special procedure to evacuate them to a third country.
