In occupied Mariupol, Russian invasion forces are loading Ukrainian metal onto a Russian-flagged cargo ship.
This was stated by Petro Andriushchenko, Advisor to the Mayor of Mariupol.
With the support and accompaniment of the Russian military, a Russian cargo ship under the Russian flag (home port – Rostov-on-Don) entered the port of Mariupol.
For the second day in a row, it is being loaded with Ukrainian rolled steel/rolled metal.
“Another fact of official looting by Russia as a state. Nobody is even hiding anymore,” Petro Andriushchenko stressed.
The Russian invaders are trying to partially restore the port in occupied Mariupol, where the Ukrainian metal and grain are being stored.
According to the Director of the Port Barsky, on February 23 the port was storing approximately 200 thousand tons of metal and cast iron, the value of which reaches $170 million.
There was significantly less grain – 3.4 thousand tons in warehouses, and another 9 thousand tons on a ship under a foreign flag near one of the berths.
The invaders have unlocked the old port gates, through which the river-type vessels with a small draught could enter.
However, Russian ships cannot enter the port until the port area is cleared of sunken sea transport. According to Barsky, the invaders could clear 3 to 4 berths out of the existing 18.
The port has one undamaged autonomous floating crane running on diesel fuel – it can be used to export stolen Ukrainian metal. At the moment, the Russian invaders are repairing the heavy loaders that are needed for this.
Metinvest, an enterprise whose metal was being stored in the port, states that the invaders could export the metallurgical products to the ports of Rostov, Taganrog, Novorossiysk, Tuapse, and occupied Sevastopol.
