The T-80U tanks, abandoned by the russian invaders, were adopted into service by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Militarnyi informs about it.
On March 29th, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that a group of russian T-80U tanks that had been stuck in the ground, were excavated.
Now these tanks will be used by the Defense Forces of Ukraine units and be used in fighting the russian invaders.
The servicemen claimed: “Yes, they were indeed dug out. After all, “professional” russian tankers managed to “plant” them in the ground almost up to the turret.”
The “flaming” heads of the locals wanted to burn the tanks down so that the enemy would not get them back. But the professional military did not give in. “Once the ground dries out, the tanks will be ours. And if they come to take them away, we will burn them together with those tanks,” said the General Staff of the Armed Forces in a statement.
A well-known Ukrainian volunteer, Roman Donik, who is aiding the military, published a photo of the abandoned tanks evacuation process.
“The ground dried up, tanks were dug up, and put into operation. Now their former russian masters will be beaten,” stated the military.
As reported earlier, in the first half of March, the Ukrainian forces had also seized the T-80U main battle tanks of the russian military.
The enemy armored vehicles were detected by the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The short video featuring those tanks was published on social media. It was reported that the filming took place in the Chernihiv region.
Based on the previously published photos, five T-80U tanks had been seized.
