The Defense Forces of Ukraine in Sievierodonetsk were reinforced by the troops of the International Legion of Ukraine. Soldiers from Australia, Georgia, France, Brazil and other countries are side by side with Ukrainian servicemen.

This was stated by Radio Svoboda correspondent Marian Kushnir in his report.

He came to Sievierodonetsk along with the servicemen.

The soldiers said they have arrived to reinforce Ukrainian troops defending the city. Ammunition, medicines, water and other necessary supplies were also delivered along with reinforcements.

“Now our task is to clean up those streets that the senior command determined. We clean them up, gain a foothold, and then the main forces will come, we will build a line with a subsequent offensive to recapture our territories,” one of the servicemen said.

Street fights are underway in Sievierodonetsk, Ukrainian defenders hold the defense.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the enemy, with the support of aircrafts, is conducting assault operations on Sievierodonetsk central residential areas. The invaders are suffering casualties.

According to released footage, the servicemen enter the city in armored vehicles.

Then they prepare to move to the position by foot.

“It’s amazing how many people from all over the world come together to help a country in need. I feel very inspired when many of the guys with different experience study side by side and become volunteers. I am from Australia. I got here quite far. I’m here to take a step forward. And I hope it attracts more people and they will do the same thing,” said Matt, an Australian Foreign Legion soldier from Australia.

Among the weapons available to the military from the International Legion of Ukraine are NLAW anti-tank systems.

“It’s a war for Georgians as well. I’m only a 20-year-old boy. And I believe and feel that this is true. We are going to push the Russians back. It will ltake a day or three years – it doesn’t matter. We are on the right side of history. So we will make sure that we all return home to our families. And we also want to make sure that the occupiers will not do the same,” Zura Kakalidze commented on his presence in Ukraine.

The servicemen regrouped under fire. On the way back, according to the video, the wounded were taken away.

The Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration said that the information from the invaders about their control of the city is not true.
