Ukrainian intelligence officers were equipped with PD-2 drones, to which a mobile command post was added.
The Come Back Alive Foundation shared that one system includes two unmanned aircraft.
They should be used to fight the Russian invaders in the waters of the Black Sea, from the occupied Crimea to the south of the Odesa region, and if necessary, further.
“The liberation of gas platforms off the Crimean coast from the invaders and the sinking of the Russian missile boat Ivanovets and the landing ship Caesar Kunikov are just some of the results of the ‘maritime’ work of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine,” the Foundation noted.
One system cost the donors almost UAH 30 million.
The system consists of two reconnaissance UAVs, a power supply, and communication equipment for the ground station, integrated into a four-wheel drive minibus.
The control center is placed on the basis of the Terrastorm four-wheel drive bus by Torsus.
The converted vehicles make it possible to:
The PD-2 is capable of detecting targets and adjusting fire on them deep behind enemy lines, both on land and at sea.
“The liberation of the Ukrainian land and the Black Sea from the invaders is a crucial goal worth investing in,” the Foundation noted.
In addition, the drone has an effective range of 180 kilometers and modern optical equipment with a 30x optical zoom for daytime optics and a 5x zoom for thermal imaging.
This makes it possible to conduct detailed reconnaissance at a distance of 5 kilometers from the UAV and, at the same time, track the movement of moving targets.
