Russian invaders withdrew from the settlement of Mykolayivka in Kherson region.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During the successful offensive of the Defense Forces units, the enemy suffered losses and withdrew from the village of Mykolaivka, Kherson region.

It was reported that this led to panic among the servicemen of other units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

On the eve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a counteroffensive in the Kherson region in several directions simultaneously.

The aim of the operation is to split the enemy group into several parts.

“The offensive of the Armed Forces started two days ago. A Russian plane was shot down on the first day. Yesterday, the Ukrainian army pushed the enemy away in the Beryslav district for nine kilometers, splitting the enemy group into two parts and taking Russian soldiers into the circle near the village of Davydiv Brid,” the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Serhiy Khlanya said.

The People’s Deputy also reported that the Ukrainian army began offensive actions from the Mykolaiv direction to Oleksandrivka and Stanislav.

Much of the Kherson region, including the regional center, was occupied by Russian troops in the first week of the full-scale invasion in February.

Some units of the Armed Forces defending the region suffered casualties, and some were forced to retreat in front of numerous columns of the enemy, which was coming from the territory of the annexed Crimea.

Russian attacks on the right bank of the Dnieper were stopped on the border of Kherson and Mykolayiv regions, as well as on the approaches to Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region).

In fact, the line of contact since mid-March in these areas has not changed significantly. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation declares that its troops control the entire territory of the Kherson region. Ukraine, in return, emphasizes that this is not the case.
