Heavy fighting continues in Donbas. The enemy’s main efforts are focused in the Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and Bakhmut directions.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy is trying to improve its tactical position. Russian troops shelled the areas of Dolyna, Dibrivne, Bohorodychne, Mazanivka, Krasnopillia, Virnopillia, Velyka Komyshuvakha.

Russians shelled from the air near Dibrivne and Bohorodychne.

“The enemy is conducting an assault in the direction of Mazanivka, with partial success,” the General Staff said.

The enemy shelled with tanks and barrel artillery several areas in the Kramatorsk and Bakhmut directions — Bilohorivka, Verkhnokamyansk, Spirne and Berestove.

In addition, the General Staff reported that the Defenсe Forces of Ukraine successfully repelled the assault in Bilohorivka. The Russian invaders pulled back.

“After the Russian advance in the Vuhlehirsk thermal power station direction and their unsuccessful offensive reconnaissance in the direction of Berestove outskirts, our defenders forced the enemy to withdraw,” the General Staff added.

The enemy didn’t cease firing tanks, mortars, barrel, and rocket artillery along the contact line, in the Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivske, Zaporizhzhia and South Buh directions.

As previously reported, the Defence forces returned Zmiinyi Island under Ukraine’s control.
