In the Czech Republic, funds were collected for an upgraded T-72 tank for the Ukrainian servicemen.
This was reported by an organization involved in the fundraising campaign.
The campaign was organized by “A Gift for Putin” project representatives.
This community project seeks funds for arms for Ukraine to help resist the full-scale Russian invasion.
The campaign to collect over €1.22 million is run under the slogan “A gift from the Czech Republic!”.
This includes the cost of the upgraded T-72 Avenger tank and its delivery to the territory of Ukraine.
Prior to launching the fundraising campaign, its organizers had consulted with the Ukrainian servicemen. And namely on the purchase of the tank and its transportation, consultations with the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic were conducted. The fundraising launched at the beginning of September.
According to the organizers, the T-72 Avenger is a Czech comprehensive upgrade of the Soviet T-72 tank. The vehicle is upgraded with devices that improve the combat capabilities, comfort and efficiency of using the tank and increase the safety of the crew.
Modern sights, including the 3rd generation zero vision, ensure the detection of objects in the dark at a distance of up to 4 kilometers. The vehicle has dynamic protection in the form of hinged containers on the hull and turret.
The tank has a modern radio station and internal communication of increased resistance to radio-electronic interference. The T-72 is equipped with a GPS module for displaying navigation data and transmitting its coordinates.
“A Gift for Putin” project was launched by the Czech businessman Dalibor Dědek.
All collected funds are transferred to the account of the Embassy of Ukraine in Prague. They are later spent to purchase Czech-made military products. The Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic is involved throughout the entire process.
