Russia has sent a note of protest to the Czech Republic over the transfer of weapons to Ukraine. In Prague, such claims were called “nonsense.”
Militarnyi reports about it.
The Russians believe that the Czech Republic cannot hand over Soviet-made weapons to Ukraine without the consent of Moscow.
Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lapivsky said that the Russians were lying making such accusations, according to ČTK.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received a note stating that we are allegedly prohibited from supplying Soviet-made weapons to third countries without Russia’s permission. Russia is lying to stop our support for Ukraine,” said Minister Lipavsky.
He also noted that in early March, the Russians informed the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic that the terrorist attacks on Western allies` convoys were expected.
“We clearly interpret this as a threat posed by the Russian Federation itself. They continue to prepare sabotage operations, which we understand as another of many threats from Russia. The Russians have passed similar messages to our other allies in the EU and NATO, “said Minister Lipavsky.
The Czech Republic is providing Ukraine with weapons and other necessary equipment. As of April 6, the value of weapons transferred to Ukraine is worth 1.1 billion Czech korunas.
The Czech Ministry of Defense does not report the time and amount of aid provided for security reasons.
Recently, Russia made claims to the United States regarding their support of Ukraine. The State Department of the United States stated that their support of Ukraine with weapons will remain ongoing.
Also, Ukraine has called on the Czech Republic and Slovakia to assist in repairing military equipment.
