The Czech Republic approved the allocation of a new military aid package to Ukraine.
Jana Černochová, Minister of Defense, shared this on Twitter.
The Head of the Defense Department noted that during government meetings, she is making proposals on weapons and equipment that could be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“We keep our word and continue supporting Ukraine with military supplies. At the government meeting, I continue submitting the transfer of military equipment that we could provide for approval,” Černochová said.
The Minister added that two weeks ago, the talks were about 400 million, and now, it is 22 million Czech korunas.
At the same time, Jana Černochová emphasized that she “cannot specify” what exactly will be included in this military aid package for Kyiv.
The Czech government approved the previous batch of military aid to the Defense Forces of Ukraine on October 5.
Ukraine was given not only heavy machinery but also other weapons and ammunition for it. However, the details of the deal are not being disclosed by the Czech Republic for security reasons.
At the beginning of October, funds were collected in the Czech Republic for an upgraded T-72 tank for the Ukrainian servicemen.
The campaign was organized by “A Gift for Putin” project representatives. This community project seeks funds for arms for Ukraine to help resist the full-scale Russian invasion.
The campaign to collect over €1.22 million was run under the slogan “A gift from the Czech Republic!”. This amount included the cost of the upgraded T-72 Avenger tank and its delivery to the territory of Ukraine.
In addition, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are using on the battlefield the T-72 tanks, which arrived from the Czech Republic. A Czech 12.7 mm Falcon sniper rifle was spotted in the service of the Ukrainian military.
