Come Back Alive Foundation, the biggest organization providing assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has purchased 100 new pickup trucks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Taras Chmut, Head of the Foundation, announced this on Facebook.

The total cost of the purchased vehicles is EUR 2.6 million. The vehicles are needed for mobile fire groups equipped with MANPADS and ATGMs.

“We purchased another 100 new pickups. With your funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine! To picture the scale – the government procurement plan for this year included 150 new pickup trucks. The plans were made before a full-scale invasion, however, it still helps to understand the volumes,” shared the Head of the Foundation.

According to Taras Chmut, the cost of one car is approximately EUR 26 thousand. The total cost of the deal is EUR 2.6 million.

“All cars were purchased officially, officially imported to Ukraine, and the new cars were accounted in the balance of the military units.

This means that the cars will be officially refueled, repaired, and operated in accordance with official military procedures, and not at the own expense of the servicemen and volunteers,” he said.

The Head of the Foundation also shared who will be receiving the newly purchased cars.

“Mostly mobile fire groups equipped with MANPADS and ATGMs, possibly snipers and light mortar crews (60/82-mm). It is important for us not to spray the cars over each brigade, but to cover all the needs of specific military units/divisions in a concentrated way – one after the other,” the Head of the Foundation summed up.

Previously, due to the nationwide support, the Come Back Alive Foundation’s team has purchased 10 PD-2 unmanned aerial vehicles. The purchased drone systems include mobile ground stations.

The total cost of the UAV systems is approximately UAH 300 million, or $8.5 million.
