“In the Dnipro district, our servicemen shot down all 5 Russian missiles that Russian forces had launched on the city of Dnipro.
Falling wreckages caused several fires. Firefighters extinguished the flames. No casualties reported,” said the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Valentyn Reznichenko.
The servicemen also showcased a photo featuring the remains of the downed missile that had fallen to the ground.
Holes from fragments of the warhead of the anti-aircraft missile, which knocked it down in flight, are visible on the Kalibr hull.
Kalibr is a family of Russian surface-to-surface cruise missiles. Anti-ship and anti-submarine versions of the missile are also claimed. These cruise missiles can be launched from submarines and surface ships.
According to the information available in open sources, the firing range of Kalibr missiles at ground targets is 2,500 km.
On submarines, missiles are launched from torpedo tubes. And from surface ships, from universal vertical launchers.
