Ukrainian forces are restraining the invaders in the direction of Bakhmut and preventing the enemy from advancing.

Colonel Serhii Cherevaty, Spokesman for the Eastern Group of Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this during the live broadcast of the national telethon.

He noted that due to difficult weather conditions, the invaders cannot use armored vehicles and tanks. Because of this, the enemy boosts the scope of artillery and aviation work and also forms infantry assault groups.

“The equipment they use includes armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, and tanks. Because of such mud, they cannot use it, as it was in early autumn or summer. Therefore, they are breaking into small assault groups and trying to penetrate our trenches. Accordingly, we are also carefully observing through various means,” Cherevaty said.

He also reported that the enemy might have local successes in areas of the front, but they are unstable.

“Our command is constantly observing the battlefield and all the enemy’s attempts to concentrate their efforts for the main strike somewhere. In most cases, it is being cut off. There are local successes of the enemy. This is a positional war. But there are several options here: either the enemy then stops, is covered by heavy fire and suffers losses, or, which happens very often, we beat these positions back,” Cherevaty noted.

As previously reported, yesterday, the Command of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces reported that in the Bakhmut area, Ukrainian paratroopers took over the combat position of the Russian invaders, destroying the enemy’s manpower.

Units of the 71st Separate Jager Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces participated in neutralizing the invaders.
