Within the last 30 days, 7 samples of Ukraine-made UAVs were cleared for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On September 30, at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense, the government adopted Resolution №1097 “On Amendments to the Procedure for the Supply of Weapons, Military and Special Equipment, and Ammunition During a Special Period, Introduced State of Emergency, Ensuring National Security and Defense, Repelling and Deterring Armed Aggression, and in the period of the anti-terrorist operation.”

According to Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, this significantly simplified the procedure of weapons and military equipment clearance to be used in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He noted that the changes already had a significant effect, primarily in the field of UAVs.

Reznikov emphasized that previously, the military used 1 or 2 unmanned aerial vehicle samples per year.

In comparison, over the last 30 days, 7 samples of Ukraine-made UAVs were cleared into operation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

To simplify interaction with manufacturers, a website has been created where every manufacturer having a ready-made product could submit an application to the Ministry of Defense for clearance for the operation of their product.

Official clearance for operation means that the Ministry of Defense could purchase those products, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine could admit them into balance.

According to the Head of the Defense Department, this procedure used to take 1.5-2 years. Today, however, it is very fast. The main checkpoint is the product having technical characteristics that meet the needs of the military.

Oleksii Reznikov informed that currently, 19 more applications from Ukraine-made UAVs are being considered for clearance for operation. Decisions on them should be made before the end of the year.

“Considering that today, the UAVs are purchased by the Ministry of Defense with budget funds, the United24 Fund, and various volunteer organizations, every manufacturer who has a real product can, in fact, find resources,” Minister Reznikov emphasized.

As previously reported, on November 1, the “An eye for an eye” initiative to purchase 25 SHARK drones for the Ukrainian military was launched by the OKKO petrol station network and the Come Back Alive Foundation.

Ukraine also developed a new Domakha reconnaissance UAV. The weight of the UAV is up to 5 kg. It works on batteries that last for 2-2.5 hours. According to the manufacturer, the drone is very quiet, can climb to a height of up to 3 km, and can fly deep into the enemy’s rear for 50 kilometers.
