Mechanized troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine use various methods to destroy armored vehicles of the Russian military.
Militarnyi reports about this with reference to 59 OMPBr.
Recently, several methods were demonstrated by soldiers of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Gandziuk.
Fighters of the Yakov Gandziuk Brigade released two videos of their work on destroying enemy equipment.
“During the Easter days, thanks to the efforts of 59 soldiers, separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Gandziuk fired on two “orc” tanks, two armored landing vehicles, three mortar shells, two artillery units, and about two dozens of manpower,” the brigade said.
In the first video, Russian armored vehicles tried to hide among the destroyed houses but were hit and destroyed by Ukrainian artillery.
The second video shows the mine-like munition being dropped from a drone on Russian T-72 tank.
Apparently, the munition was released from unmanned aerial vehicle, which was initially used only for surveillance.
For reference: the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Gandziuk (59th OMPBR) is a military unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The brigade headquarters is located in Haisyn. The brigade is subordinated to the operational command “South.”
It was formed after the beginning of the Russian aggression in late 2014.
It consisted of three battalions, which were also formed after the war: the 9th, 10th, and 11th Motorized Infantry, former territorial defense battalions.
On the 6th of May 2020, the brigade was named after Yakov Gandziuk, a Ukrainian military figure during the First Liberation War, the Ataman of the brigade of the Ukrainian People’s Republic army.
