Ukrainian company TAF Industries and German Wingcopter have signed a memorandum to establish a joint venture for the production of drones.

The document was signed during the 62nd Munich Security Conference in the presence of representatives of the Ukrainian and German governments.

The joint venture will be located in Germany.

“This will diversify the Ukrainian defense sector and reduce industrial risks, strengthen the resilience of Ukraine’s defense sector, and, most importantly, enable the continuous supply of necessary equipment to the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” TAF Industries said.

The partnership was formed as part of the Build with Ukraine program.

As part of the joint venture, TAF Industries will provide licensed designs and experience in UAV production.

For its part, Wingcopter will provide industrial infrastructure, manufacturing expertise, and engineering capabilities in Germany.

This collaboration expands German manufacturer Wingcopter’s activities in the security and defense sector through the newly created Wingcopter Security & Defense division.

In addition to existing systems, the partners plan to jointly localize UAV production for the European market and NATO countries.

“This joint venture combines our battle-tested innovations with Germany’s industrial power, transforming operational experience into scalable production,” said Vladimir Zinovsky, CEO of TAF Industries.

Capabilities of Wingcopter and TAF Industries

Wingcopter is a German company engaged in the development, production, sale, and operation of fully electric unmanned aerial vehicles.

Wingcopter 198 drone

The company’s flagship product is the Wingcopter 198 drone, which, thanks to its patented swivel rotor mechanism and proprietary software algorithms, provides a smooth transition between two flight modes.

It can take off and land vertically like a multicopter, as well as fly long distances as efficiently and quickly as a fixed-wing aircraft.

Ukrainian company TAF Industries, in turn, manufactures more than 30 types of defense products, most of which are certified by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.

The range includes FPV drones and reconnaissance UAVs, electronic warfare systems, remote control solutions, and artificial intelligence-based combat technologies.

“The production of FPV drones is up to 80,000 units per month,” the company said.

Last year, TAF Industries updated the Babka drone and the Kolibri family of strike FPVs, focusing on mass production and low cost.
