Sweden sent six motorboats to cross rivers as part of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine said that they can be used as pontoon crossings.
These are the first such special vehicles received by the road workers, previously they were used by military engineers.
When laid out, these pontoon crossings are 8 meters long.
“They can be used to restore transport links in the liberated territories,” reported the Ministry.
It is specifically planned to use these boats to create a consistent flow of humanitarian supplies to de-occupied towns.
They also will be used to establish logistics for the supply of products to restore economic activity in communities.
In Sweden, these tow boats were used with pontoon bridges.
Recall that since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war, temporary bridges have been sent to Ukraine by the Czech Republic, France, Norway.
Some structures have already been installed and are functioning in the de-occupied territories of the Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions.
In general, since February 24, 2022, 80 temporary crossings have been arranged, and another 3 crossings are currently at the stage of arrangement.
The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine is working with international partners to increase the number of bridges for construction in de-occupied regions.
