The Ukrainian company Strix Air has launched serial production of the Air Baby interceptor drone.
The new development is designed to destroy enemy Shahed-type drones, the company told Militarnyi.
Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are already using these interceptors. In Liutyi, in a comment for the “To Arms” project, the head and founder of Strix Air, Eduard Baev, said that the first Russian drones had already been shot down by this device.
“This month, we had our first combat shootdowns,” he said.
The main advantage of the model is its cost, which is 30% lower than existing analogues.
Air Baby has already attracted interest from countries in the Middle East. In particular, the United Arab Emirates and other states in the region.
The manufacturer has currently received requests for the supply of 10,000 interceptors from foreign representatives.
Military units can order the interceptor through direct contracting. The complex was also presented on the Brave1 marketplace, where it is available for purchase under the “E-Baly” program.
The cost of one Air Baby on the marketplace ranges from 36,000 to 58,000 hryvnia. The price depends on the selected configuration and additional equipment.
The interceptor is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 280 km/h, and the aircraft’s flight altitude reaches 5,000 meters.
The technical equipment includes its own modular dual-frequency control. The drone also has an “anti-jamming” video switching system for stable operation under the influence of electronic warfare measures.
The drone is equipped with a 500-gram warhead. It uses its own ground station and repeater for operation.
