A group of strike drones attacked a Russian military air base near the city of Mozdok in North Ossetia.
The Russian Ministry of Defense acknowledged the attack and said that the drones had allegedly flown from Ukraine.
The head of North Ossetia claims that there were three drones, and their target was a military air base near the city of Mozdok. According to him, all UAVs were shot down. At the same time, allegedly “minor destruction and ignition” were recorded. The exact consequences of the attack are still unknown.
“The attack was stopped by the air defense forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Minor destruction and ignition were recorded. No one was injured. An operational headquarters was created,” said the head of North Ossetia.
The attack on this air base is reported for the first time. Russian troops use it in the war against Ukraine.
At the same time, photos with the wreckage of drones, which show 6 engines, were released on the Mash telegram channel.
The Ukrainian Air Force has repeatedly reported the takeoffs of MiG-31K Kinzhal carriers from this air base, as well as Tu-22M3 strategic bombers for strikes on Ukraine.
The distance from Ukraine to this Russian aviation facility is approximately 1000 kilometers.
It is likely that the Russian military facility was attacked by Liutyi drones.
Aircraft fuselage is made in the form of integral double-beam low-plane.
It is driven by an internal combustion engine with a three-blade propeller of a pushing type located in the aft part.
In the bow there is a large hood that opens access to the compartment with the warhead.
