Ukrainian defense forces struck the 39N6 Kasta 2E2 radar station in Anapa, Krasnodar Krai.
Satellite images were published by the Exilenova+ Telegram channel.
The radar station covered the southern part of Russia from the territory of a military radar unit located in the south of Anapa.
The images also show damaged hangars, which were probably also hit during the attack.
It is recorded that Russia has been actively using radar stations at this military unit for over ten years, trying to hide them under domes.
This is confirmed by the testimony of local residents, former servicemen of this unit, as well as the neglected appearance of the territory, where excursions were even conducted for some time.
The 39N6 Kasta 2E2 radar station is a mobile two-coordinate ultra-high frequency (UHF) band circular survey station.
It is designed to control airspace, determine coordinates, and identify air targets, particularly at extremely low altitudes.
The station is capable of determining the trajectory characteristics of targets and flight altitude, detecting them in the lower, upper, or both beams.
Information about coordinates and movement parameters is transmitted to air defense control systems, air force command and control systems, and army air defense systems via radio channels or cable communication lines with the possibility of digital-analog connection.
The radar is also used to manage air traffic and control airspace in airport areas.
As a reminder, last night, the Defense Forces struck a radar station on the territory of a former air defense base in the Rostov region.
