Strike Drones Hit One of Russia’s Largest Oil Refineries for the Second Time in Three Days

On the night of December 14, strike drones attacked an oil refinery in the Russian city of Yaroslavl for the second time in three days. The facility is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia.

Astra reported on this, citing local residents.

According to the reports, Ukrainian drones struck the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery, located about 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The refinery has an annual processing capacity of 15 million tons of oil and ranks fifth among Russia’s oil refineries.

Local residents reported hearing a series of explosions near the facility and shared in local channels that drones had struck the site.

The previous time, a fire at the plant following a drone strike was reported on December 12. At that time, a large-scale blaze broke out at the facility.

Slavneft-YANOS

The refinery produces a wide range of petroleum products, including automotive gasoline, aviation kerosene, fuel oil, and lubricants.

Among the plant’s consumers are virtually all major enterprises in Russia’s Central and Northwestern regions, as well as airports, the Northern Railway Directorate, and facilities of the military industry.
