The Ukrainian Air Force launched a precision strike on the Kremniy EL plant in Bryansk using Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles, destroying several of the facility’s production workshops.

The Ukrainian General Staff published the video of the strike.

During the attack, a battle damage assessment was conducted by a Ukrainian drone that flew over the city without interference. Based on the distinctive interface visible in the footage, the drone was likely one of the systems produced by the Ukrainian company Ukrspecsystems.

A unit of the Raid Separate Regiment of Unmanned Systems of the Unmanned Systems Forces performed aerial reconnaissance.

The footage clearly shows that the plant’s main workshop, the primary target of the strike, sustained significant damage.

According to the General Staff, the strike is part of a systematic campaign aimed at reducing the enemy’s military-economic potential.

The attack on the plant took place in the evening of March 10. At that time, a large fire was observed on the territory of the industrial facility from different parts of the city, and eyewitnesses published footage showing the moment the cruise missiles struck.

Ukrainian drones had previously targeted the facility, but the effectiveness of those strikes was limited. In 2023, strike drones repeatedly attacked the site, and the attacks were repeated again in 2024. In total, the enterprise has been targeted six times.

Kremniy EL

The Kremniy-EL enterprise is the second-largest manufacturer of microelectronics in Russia. About 90% of the plant’s total production is supplied to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Microelectronic components produced at this facility are used in a wide range of microchips installed in modern Russian weapons systems, including cruise and ballistic missiles.

It is reported that the plant’s products were used, in particular, in Russian strategic programs to develop radar systems with active phased-array antennas (AESA).

According to available data, the company’s trade turnover in 2021 amounted to approximately 3.9 billion rubles.

Storm Shadow/SCALP

The Franco-British Storm Shadow/SCALP EG is a long-range air-launched cruise missile designed to strike ground targets.

It is intended to penetrate air defense systems and destroy high-value stationary targets, including hardened bunkers.

The missile is 5.1 meters long, has a launch weight of up to 1,300 kg, and carries a 450-kg warhead.

The French version of the missile, known as SCALP EG, and the British Storm Shadow are generally identical. The differences are mainly in the software and the aircraft platforms used to carry the missile.

The declared launch range of the cruise missile is over 250 km in the export version, and up to 560 km for the armed forces of France and the United Kingdom.
