Metinvest transferred ten pickup trucks to the Security Service of Ukraine within the Steel Front initiative.
This was announced on the initiative’s official Facebook page.
These vehicles, worth UAH 4.8 million, were purchased in Europe and underwent complete maintenance.
According to Ukrainian defenders, such off-road vehicles not only perform transportation functions but are also directly used in combat operations against the Russian invaders.
It is noted that in total, about 30 pickup trucks were transferred to the SSU special forces as part of the Steel Front initiative.
Last month, Metinvest also shipped 12 British FV432 armored personnel carriers and two FV434 armored repair vehicles with spare parts to the Ukrainian military as part of this initiative.
The vehicles were delivered to the 3rd Assault Brigade.
The FV432 tracked armored personnel carriers and FV434 armored repair vehicles were located in the United Kingdom, from which they were delivered to Ukraine over six months ago.
The vehicles and spare parts cost the company UAH 53 million.
“The cross-country ability of these vehicles is much better than that of wheeled vehicles. That is why it saves the lives of the guys currently performing their combat missions. We will additionally equip it with an internal navigation and communication system to help the guys cooperate better on the battlefield,” a soldier with the 3rd Assault Brigade shared on the British armored personnel carrier.
Metinvest also launched the production of additional protection kits for the American M2 Bradley.
The design will protect the most vulnerable points of armored vehicles and increase their combat survivability.
