Ukrainian automated radar station Snov has passed state tests.
The Militarnyi reports with reference to the information Agency of the Ministry of Defense.
The Holding Company “Ukrspetstechnika” continues to improve the line of small-sized radar stations.
The Snov radar is developed on the base of digital active antenna array.
The radar is designed for reconnaissance and distribution of radar information on air objects (aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, hang gliders, etc.).
The radar station can be controlled remotely. It is capable of detecting small targets at a distance of up to 50 km and at an altitude of 20 to 5000 meters.
According to Mikhailo Prokhorenko, deputy head of the management board of HC “Ukrspetstekhnika”, during the tests, this radar station showed its effectiveness in detecting low-flying and small-sized targets with a small effective dispersion area.
Also with the detection and observation, which sometimes obsolete radars made in Soviet-era can not effectively cope.
The radar station is capable to operate and transmit information automatically, and can be mounted both stationary (at the position) and on vehicles or trailers.
According to the Air Force Command of Ukrainian Armed Forces, “the tactical and technical characteristics of the radar declared by the Holding Company “Ukrspetstechnika” meet modern requirements and world analogues of radar stations of this class.”
Recall that a number of modern developments of this enterprise are already in service with the Ukrainian army.
In particular, the world’s smallest radar “Borsuk-A”, as well as large-size radar P-18 “Malachite”.
