The SSU detained a Russian agent who was collaborating with the enemy during the occupation of the Kharkiv region and helped mine the territory.
The Security Service of Ukraine reported on this.
The detainee turned out to be an agronomist at a local farm in the Kupiansk district, who, after the occupation, helped the Russian invaders navigate the area to set up the minefields.
The Russians mined areas around the district center, including local roads used by civilians.
In addition, the detainee helped the invaders with food and firewood to heat the seized school where they were stationed.
He accommodated Russian commanders in his own home and demanded this from his fellow villagers.
He also forced his business colleagues to provide the invaders with concrete blocks and wood used by the Russians to construct fortifications in the Kharkiv region.
In case of refusal, he threatened to imprison them in Russian torture chambers.
After the district’s liberation, the Russian agent stayed in the community, hiding to evade justice. However, SSU officers established his location and detained him.
The suspect is in custody, facing up to 12 years in prison.
Militarnyi previously reported that the Security Service of Ukraine neutralized the agent network of the FSS of the Russian Federation, which included former and current officials of the Ukrainian special services.
Five members of the intelligence group were detained as a result of a multi-stage special operation in different regions of Ukraine.
They included former officers of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, along with an officer of the SSU regional department.
