Soldiers of the National Guard’s Spartan Brigade, together with the Birds of Magyar unit and other supporting forces, successfully repelled a Russian assault in the Pokrovsk direction.
According to the official page of the 3rd Spartan Operational Brigade named after Colonel Petro Bolbochan, Russian forces deployed approximately 90 assault troops for the attack. They advanced using cars, motorcycles, and quad bikes, attempting to use fog for cover and to approach Ukrainian positions.
Despite poor weather and heavy traffic, aerial reconnaissance spotted the enemy in time. Ukrainian forces then carried out a series of strikes using FPV drones and drones equipped with drop munitions, stopping the assault.
The brigade reports that 80 Russian soldiers were killed. Two more were wounded, and two invaders were taken prisoner. The number of personnel is equivalent to a full-strength Russian infantry platoon.
In terms of equipment, the enemy lost 10 quad bikes, 4 motorcycles, and 6 civilian vehicles.
According to official information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on January 31, 2026, Ukrainian defenders fought off 80 Russian assault actions in the Pokrovsk direction. Fighting took place in Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and Filiia, as well as toward Ivanivka, Novopidhorodne, and Rodynske.
Militarnyi previously reported that during an attempt to redeploy forces, Russian troops lost dozens of units of light vehicles on the approaches to Pokrovsk. The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck part of the equipment while it was still in transit between Shevchenkove and Pokrovsk.
