General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) and KNDS Deutschland have unveiled a new artillery system called Nemesis.

This was reported by Hartpunkt.

At the Future Artillery Conference 2025, the Spanish-German consortium presented the Nemesis tracked artillery system, which combines the ASCOD armored transporter base and the AGM 155 mm artillery module.

The Nemesis system is equipped with a fully automated AGM artillery module, which allows it to achieve a firing range of up to 54 km.

Thanks to its 360° rotation and wide range of elevation angles, the system ensures high target engagement efficiency without the need for additional support.

At the same time, the ASCOD chassis ensures high mobility and protection of the system, allowing it to be used effectively in various combat conditions. It should be noted that the ASCOD base is quite widespread today, and production rates are high.

The ASCOD platform is equipped with a 1,100 hp diesel engine. Depending on requirements, the platform can be equipped with steel or composite rubber tracks.

According to GDELS, Nemesis can be operated by a crew of two. At the same time, the ASCOD’s “ergonomically optimized” cabin can accommodate a third crew member if necessary.

In addition, according to the company, the artillery system can be operated completely without a crew. The manufacturers also emphasize that the entire system was developed exclusively in Europe, which contributes to the growth of the continent’s strategic autonomy.

It should be noted that the idea of installing a 155 mm module on a tracked base is not new. In the early 2000s, a similar version was developed, which was named Donar.

The platform was based on the M270 MLRS tracked base, which had a similar unmanned artillery module, and a reduced crew. At the time, the system did not attract any interest, so the project was discontinued.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the Swiss Federal Department of Defence had selected a new self-propelled artillery system to replace its fleet of M109 SPGs. It is a Piranha IV 10×10 armored personnel carrier with a 155 mm unmanned module with AGM from the German company KNDS Deutschland.
