Destinus, the developer of the Ruta missile, has entered into a strategic technology partnership with the Spanish Grupo Oesia.

Destinus reported that the agreement, signed at FEINDEF 2025, will improve their long-range weapons.

“This is an important step towards enhancing the capabilities of the long-range deterrence force,” the company said.

The partnership is supported by the Spanish Ministry of Defense for the future strengthening of the Spanish army with the latest technologies.

The presentation booklet outlines the technical structure of the rocket, including its turbojet engine, avionics and modular payload integration.

The Spanish company Grupo Oesia specializes in industrial and digital engineering.

The agreement focuses on the joint development, production and commercialization of the Ruta long-range missile system.

The missile has a guidance, navigation and control system fully developed and integrated in Spain by UAV Navigation, a subsidiary of Grupo Oesia.

Destinus was founded by Russian-born physicist Mikhail Kokorich, who opposed the Russian invasion and renounced his Russian citizenship. Destinus is headquartered in Paris, but the company already has production facilities in several European countries.

Last year, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced that Ukraine was testing a Ruta missile.

In June, at the Eurosatory 2024 exhibition, the Ukrainian stand also presented the Ruta missile made by Destinus.

In Paris, it has already been demonstrated with the insignia of the Ukrainian Air Force.

The manufacturer stated that the project’s goal was to create a low-cost missile capable of carrying a significant payload at high speed.

The rocket takes off with the help of an accelerator and lands with the help of parachutes (if necessary).

The airframe design includes modular components: a replaceable payload bay, an internal modular fuel tank, avionics and electronic warfare subsystems, and removable wings for easy storage and transportation.

The system has optical guidance at the terminal stage, autonomous flight capabilities and swarm coordination functions.

The Ruta missile is said to have a cruising speed of Mach 0.8 and a maximum range of 500 kilometers.

The guidance, navigation, and control system includes autonomous navigation solutions, target-oriented missions, and target destruction in conditions of electronic jamming.
