Soldiers of the 5th Slobozhansk Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine destroyed a Russian Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system.
The press service of the brigade reported on this.
The defeat of the Russian SAM took place in close cooperation with the aerial reconnaissance group of the units of the 107th Territorial Defense Brigade.
The Territorial Defense Brigade detected a Russian Tor-M2 and passed the coordinates to the soldiers of the National Guard for its destruction.
The Russian SAM was destroyed in the Kupiansk sector thanks to an FPV drone operated by the National Guard Brigade`s Striks crew.
According to the brigade’s press service, the Russian Tor-M2 system was destroyed on the first attempt, along with the crew.
In the video captured by the FPV drone at the time of the target’s destruction, the SAM can be seen in a combat position with a search radar operating.
The Russian SAM system was hit in the hull without detonation of the munition, which did not allow it to leave the combat position.
Although the system was not destroyed, a large amount of debris from the exploded munition damaged the search and target acquisition radars.
Militarnyi previously reported that soldiers of the 3rd Assault Brigade had destroyed a Russian Tor surface-to-air missile system and a TOS-1A Solntsepyok flamethrower system.
The defeat of Russian equipment took place in the Kharkiv region, where the brigade’s fighters discovered a Russian Tor-M2 missile system and a TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system.
The Tor-M2 was hit by an FPV drone when the system was searching for air targets.
