Ukrainian soldiers captured a Russian T-80BV tank.

The Press Service of the 3rd Separate Tank Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shared that recently the unit’s soldiers did not allow the aggressor to breakthrough on one of the important sections of the front.

The tank unit together with the reconnaissance specialists won the battle.

As a result of the successful actions of the Ukrainian defenders, following the results of the combat clash, the unit managed to capture the trophy T-80BV tank of the Russian invaders.

“Four enemy tanks were moving towards our positions. And again, the impeccable work of our reconnaissance specialists! They clearly calculated the coordinates of the orc’s “boxes”. And the Ukrainian artillery greeted them with barricading fire. One of the ruscists tanks became the property of our fighters,” the tank brigade said.

It is noted that the Сommander of this brigade’s tank unit received the high title of Hero of Ukraine by the Presidential Decree from April 2, 2022.

T-80BV is an upgraded version of the T-80B tank that has a new set of hinged dynamic protection “Kontact-1” installed.

Previously, in the Huliaipole area, Zaporizhzhia Territorial Defense soldiers retrieved a BMP-3, which was abandoned by the invaders, from the river. Specialists from the repair department examined the equipment.

Although it was in the water for several days, the engine did not fail. Therefore, the trophy BMP will be sent for repair.

The BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle is armed with a 100-millimeter gun – a 2A70 launcher with a 30-millimeter 2A72 automatic gun and a 7.62-millimeter PK machine gun.

The BMP is designed to transport personnel to the front line, increase mobility, armament, protection of servicemen on the battlefield in case of use of nuclear weapons, and joint action with tanks in battle.
