Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a Russian “Orlan-10” drone with a portable anti-aircraft missile system.
The 128th Separate Mountain Zakarpattia Brigade reported about this.
Soldiers of the Brigade destroyed and downed yet another Russian reconnaissance drone, with which the invaders were adjusting the fire.
“Orlan-10” helped the enemy artillery to fire on the positions of the Ukrainian military.
The Ukrainian defenders have destroyed the unmanned aerial vehicle with a portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS).
The results of the defeat and the subsequent fate of the downed drone were recorded in a video.
The released video features how the Russian “Orlan-10” drone falls from the sky with a plume of smoke and crashes to the ground. After that, the remnants of a reconnaissance enemy drone are burning in a Ukrainian field.
The soldiers of the 128th Brigade shared that earlier, they have destroyed another “Orlan-10” drone, with the help of which Russians were firing not only at the positions of the Ukrainian servicemen but also at peaceful villages along the front line.
Orlan-10 is a medium-range, multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle. It is used at distances of up to 120 km from the control point. In autonomous mode, it can fly a distance of 600 km.
Time in the air – up to 18 hours, flight speed – 90-150 km per hour. Its weight is between 14 and 18 kg, of which the payload is 5 kg. It is launched from a special catapult.
With the help of this UAV, the Russians are not only correcting artillery fire but are also conducting radio reconnaissance and jamming mobile communications.
For reference: the 128th Separate Mountain Zakarpattia Brigade is a unit of the mountain infantry of the Ground Forces of Ukraine. Its divisions are deployed on the territory of the Zakarpattia region but are now in the line of contact with the Russian troops.
