In Poland, a soldier was wounded on the border with Belarus on Monday evening.

The Polish Armed Forces Operational Command reported this on X.

According to the statement, on August 25, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m. near the town of Czeremcha, during an attempt to prevent an illegal border crossing from the Belarusian side by a group of aggressive migrants, a soldier from the Podlasie task force sustained an injury to his left arm while using force.

The soldier received first aid at the scene.

He was then immediately transported to a hospital in the city of Białystok, where he received specialized medical care.

Currently, the condition of the wounded soldier is stable, and his life is not in danger. The Military Police are conducting an investigation at the scene.

For several years, illegal migrants have been trying to enter Polish territory from the Belarusian side. To breach the border barriers, they use angle grinders and also throw stones, branches, and use bladed weapons against Polish soldiers and border guards.
