The operators of the UA_REG unit of the 8th Separate Special Purpose Regiment took on an eight-hour battle with superior enemy forces.

The unit posted the video on its Telegram channel.

“It was the most responsible and difficult battle for the unit. The enemy forces outnumbered us ten to one,” the statement reads.

The battle took place with DPRK units using small arms. No enemy losses were reported, but the video shows one dead North Korean soldier.

The operators emphasize that all components of the unit worked to destroy enemy troops and to save the lives of every Special Forces soldier who took part in the battle.

During the battle, the unit’s operators were evacuated by HMMWVs.

It is reported that no Ukrainian Special Forces personnel had been injured during the firefight with the enemy.

The combat missions of the 8th Regiment

Recently, on January 7, it was reported that the soldiers of the 8th Regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had destroyed a group of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk oblast of the Russian Federation.

According to Ukrainian Special Forces, 13 North Korean soldiers were killed during the special operations.

After the battle, the Special Operations Forces operators examined the bodies of the eliminated DPRK soldiers and their personal documents.

One of them had an assault rifle with a collimator sight, a Sino-Russian Azart radio and a drone detector.

Among other things, the North Korean soldier was carrying a letter of appeal to the ruling DPRK Workers’ Party.
