Ukrainian SOF operators in the Kharkiv Region captured Russian-made PTKM-1R anti-tank mines.
Photos of captured mines showed the Command of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This is the latest Russian weapon used by the invaders against armored vehicles of the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
“In the Kharkiv Region, during special actions, our fighters captured modern Russian engineering weapons – PTKM-1R,” the Ukrainian SOF Command said.
The fact that the invaders used such mines became known in May this year. Then the photo with this ammunition was published by the Administration of State Guard of Ukraine.
PTKM-1R strikes the upper hemisphere of armored vehicles when it moves near the mine installation site.
The system consists of a combined transporter-launcher and a combat element (submunition), and weighs about 20 kilograms. The mine can only be emplaced manually.
The transporter-launcher container consists of a positioning device with 8 hinged legs, a blasting device, a power source, a rotary platform with an electric gear, a guide with 4 hinged acoustic sensors fixed on it, a piston and a charge.
In transport position legs of positioning device and acoustic sensors are fixed in a folded state by locking ring. Seismic target sensor is fixed on one of the legs.
The combat element consists of a combat unit of the explosively formed penetrator (EFP) type, a blasting device, a power source, two pulsed jet engines, infrared and radar target sensors.
Warhead is fixed in the guide of the transport and launch container. Combat element consists of housing, charge, detonation distributor and lining. Pulse jet engines are fixed at an angle to the axis of the combat element.
The action zone is linear-circular with a firing range of up to 50 meters. It is stated that the level of armor penetration is at least 70 mm. You can read more about the principle of operation of this Russian anti-tank mine in our previous material.
