The Slovak government has approved a proposal to transfer over EUR 2 million worth of military supplies to Ukraine free of charge.
European Pravda reports on the possibility of transferring these items of military use with reference to Aktuality.
It was reported that the country’s Ministry of Defense will make use of the opportunity to reimburse some costs at the EU level and on the basis of bilateral agreements.
Currently, Slovakia has already provided assistance to Ukraine in the amount of over EUR 10 million euros.
In particular, this regards approximately 10 million liters of diesel fuel, 2.4 million liters of gasoline, and 12 thousand units of 120-millimeter ammunition (most likely, these are mortar mines – Ed.).
Slovakia has also handed over the S-300 air defense system to Ukraine.
On April 8th, Eduard Heger, Prime Minister of Slovakia, confirmed the information about transferring the S-300PMU air defense system, which was in his country’s arsenal, to Ukraine.
The transfer of weapons was conditional on the guarantees that the air defense systems would be replaced by those from the NATO partner states.
Thus, Slovakia became the first NATO country to supply Ukraine with heavy air defense systems to combat Russian invaders.
In addition, it was reported that Slovakia might sell self-propelled artillery on a wheeled chassis to Ukraine.
The information on this was released in the media, in which the negotiations between Ukraine and Slovakia on the supply of the Zuzana ACS, which have a caliber of 155-mm, were mentioned.
