Soldiers of the 110th Mechanized Brigade told what equipment they mostly seized from the invaders for two years during the defense of Avdiivka.
According to Militarnyi’s sources, the captured equipment helped this brigade hold positions around Avdiivka for almost two years. The 3rd Assault Brigade replaced them in these positions just recently.
Throughout this period, the invaders tried to seize control of the city. Their success only came when they escalated their attacks and outnumbered the defending forces: one brigade holding the defense was confronted by two offensive armies.
During these two years, captured enemy armored vehicles went mainly to spare parts for the one in service with the brigade.
“It was impossible to restore captured equipment in our field conditions, and it was impractical to send it to the plant,” one of the Brigade’s repairmen explained.
After all, it takes a long time to recover, and using spare parts makes it possible to repair other vehicles.
“They have normal vehicles, but also a lot of the same sh*t,” said the commander of the repair platoon of the 110th Brigade.
“We had a feeling that they were made for one battle: they connected everything directly – go there and do not return,” the commander of the repair platoon shared his impressions.
He cited some examples, in particular an air system with a disconnected compressor, a direct connection of the electric starter to the batteries, and the absence of filters on the fuel system.
