In the first six months of 2024, the Ministry of Defense authorized five armored vehicles for use in the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

This was reported by the press service of the defense ministry.

It is noted that these were armored vehicles for various purposes of Ukrainian and foreign production.

For the needs of the Ukrainian army, wheeled armored personnel carriers, armored vehicles with enhanced mine protection, and a repair and evacuation vehicle based on a tank chassis were codified for the first half of this year.

However, the exact names of the armored vehicle models that have been authorized for use in the Armed Forces are not disclosed.

The Ministry of Defense noted that the armored repair and evacuation vehicle was equipped with special units and mechanisms for evacuating armored vehicles from the battlefield and carrying out repairs in the field.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have also authorized the operation of a new mobile car repair shop developed by specialists from one of the national defense industry enterprises.

The new repair shop can be installed on the chassis of various pickup truck models from global manufacturers. It is capable of handling the routine repair and maintenance of automotive and military equipment for company-battalion level units.

In addition, it is equipped with a 500-kilogram capacity jib crane and a 5 ton capacity winch.

The Ministry of Defense also codified a domestically produced medical armored vehicle, Kozak-5MED, based on the chassis of the American Ford F-550 pickup truck.

It can transport four lying wounded or six in a sitting position, in addition to the driver and medical evacuation team personnel. The vehicle’s armor protects the crew and passengers from 7.62-mm fragments and bullets.

The codification and approval of Ukrainian-made weapons and military equipment for operation allows all purchases to be made from the state budget for the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
