Explosions were heard near the airport of the Russian city of Belgorod.

Local Telegram channels released a video capturing the incident.

The explosions were preceded by the work of the enemy’s air defense crews. According to the local media, they launched up to a dozen missiles to intercept unknown objects.

Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of the region, commented on the situation: “There was shelling… According to preliminary data, two were wounded.”

It is not yet known who or what struck the territory of the Belgorod Airport. White smoke rose after the explosions. Google Maps images indicate that the airport was also used for military purposes.

Single security forces helicopters were stationed there. After the start of a large-scale invasion, the aggressor’s army could have intensified the use of this site.

MilitaryAviation.UA found photos confirming the use of helicopters and attack aircraft deployed from the Belgorod Airport in the aggression against Ukraine.

Air defense equipment of the Russian Armed Forces might also be based in the airport.
