The Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation has launched a fundraiser for interceptor drones for the Ukrainian military.

The Foundation announced this on its official Facebook page.

The goal of the fundraiser called Clear Sky is to raise UAH 50 million to buy 600 UAVs and related equipment.

Of these, 450 drones will be daytime drones, and 150 will be used at night.

The Foundation notes that these fixed-wing drones effectively destroy enemy reconnaissance drones that adjust strikes on Ukraine.

They include Zala, Orlan, Supercam, and others that fly on the contact line and in the airspace on the outskirts of frontline cities and try to fly deeper into Ukrainian territory.

Russian reconnaissance UAVs are almost always a precursor to a missile attack or the use of glider bombs both at the front and in frontline settlements.

Interceptor drones can reach speeds of up to 160 km/h and stay in the air for up to an hour. They can also have a range of up to 35 km.

They operate day and night and have secure communications.

The Ukrainian military is already using these drones and has praised their capabilities: “They are fast, maneuverable, and effective against most enemy UAVs,” the Foundation emphasized.

Various volunteer groups and foundations are involved in providing Ukrainian defenders with drones designed to intercept Russian UAVs. For these purposes, both FPV drones and fixed-wing drones are used.

In September 2024, the German publication Bild discovered that Ukraine’s defense industry is working on several separate systems that will destroy drones of various types, including Shahed drones.
