The President of Serbia stated that he is not opposed to his country selling ammunition to intermediaries who ship it to Ukraine.

Aleksandar Vučić, country’s president, voiced this in an interview with the Financial Times.

Aleksandar Vučić stated that he is aware of the fact that Serbian ammunition enters Ukraine through intermediaries, but he does not intend to prevent it.

“Is it possible that this is happening? I have no doubt that it is possible. What is the alternative for us? Do not produce ammunition? Don’t sell them?” Vučić said.

Vučić acknowledged that he was walking a fine line between Moscow and Western powers, but said he would not help the Russian war effort.

According to him, Serbia has joined all UN resolutions condemning the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

“We support the ban on re-exports, for example, of dual-use technologies needed for drones…  We will not be a hub for re-exporting something to Russia,” he said.

He added that the days when he spoke with Vladimir Putin every three months are over, noting that he has not been in contact with the Kremlin for a year, except for receiving visitors from Moscow.

As previously reported, Ukrainian Defense Forces used new Serbian ER Grad 2000 122mm missiles.

They significantly exceed the capabilities of other similar types of missiles in the arsenal of the Ukrainian army.

It was also stated that the ammunition was purchased from the Serbian Krušik enterprise by the Canadian JNJ Export & Import company.

Containers with ammunition were transported from Serbia to Turkey by Arca Savunma Sanayi Ticaret. From Turkey the missiles were delivered to Ukraine through Slovakia.
