Serbia increased its total arms exports to Israel after the attack by the Hamas terrorist organization in October 2023.
The Balkan Insight reported on this.
The main exporter of weapons to Israel is the Serbian company Yugoimport-SDPR, which produces a wide range of weapons.
According to customs data from the Checkpoint portal, Serbia exported €14 million worth of weapons to Israel in March 2024.
It should be noted that today it’s known about at least two large export orders from Israel that were realized after the Hamas attack.
It also should be added, that Yugoimport-SDPR used to export weapons to Israel for €540 thousand in October 2023 and €510 thousand in February 2014.
In addition, until October 2023, Serbia did not carry out any arms exports to this country.
Another Serbian state-owned company, Prvi Partizan, was also noticed in the exports, exporting goods to Israel worth about 780 thousand euros in March and April 2023.
Despite the UN ban on arms exports to Israel, some countries continued to sell weapons to Israel due to violations of human rights and humanitarian law.
Serbia and Israel are quite close, as both Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have repeatedly stated.
Militarnyi previously reported that the President of Serbia stated that he is not opposed to his country selling ammunition to intermediaries who ship it to Ukraine.
Aleksandar Vučić stated that he is aware of the fact that Serbian ammunition enters Ukraine through intermediaries, but he does not intend to prevent it.
