The Ukrainian company SEE (System Electronic Export), in collaboration with NAUDI, presented the innovative SEEDIS air target interception system.

This was reported by a Militarnyi correspondent from the World Defense Show in Riyadh.

The project offers a new approach to the layered defense of critical infrastructure. In this scheme, drones act as the first line of defense.

The key advantage of SEEDIS is its complete autonomy in targeting. This reduces the workload on personnel and eliminates the need for scarce FPV pilots. The system independently detects the target, calculates the trajectory, and attacks the object without human intervention.

“The drone is guided completely automatically without the involvement of a pilot; we are completing testing and preparing documents for submission for codification,” the developers report on the grounds of the Saudi defense forum.

How the SEEDIS drone works

The Krechet air defense ecosystem integrates radars and firepower into a single network. After detecting an enemy object, algorithms automatically distribute targets among launchers, taking into account distance and type of threat.

SEE representatives explain how it works: “When a target approaches the line calculated for each weapon, the system issues a target designation and launch command.”

After a vertical launch, the drone automatically intercepts the target without additional equipment. The software adjusts the flight, turning the drone into an intelligent analogue of an anti-aircraft missile.

“Krechet automatically calculates the guidance trajectory without pilot involvement, and the drone attacks the target in autonomous mode,” the developers note.

In the final stage of approach, the on-board computer activates its own target acquisition system. Using day or night cameras, the drone recognizes targets at a distance of up to 500-1000 meters. Artificial intelligence analyzes images in real time.

The interceptor’s speed allows it to effectively destroy most reconnaissance UAVs and kamikaze drones. The maximum speed of the aircraft reaches 320 km/h, and the cruising speed is about 190 km/h.

SEEDIS is a completely Ukrainian development based on proprietary software and engineering solutions. Despite the use of imported components, intellectual property and the production cycle are concentrated in Ukraine.

“It is entirely Ukrainian; of course, there are components that are not manufactured in Ukraine, but all the engineering, software, and concept are ours,” concludes SEE.
